We had some family in Hartlepool, so it was convenient for us to visit them. Additionally, the beds were comfortable, providing a good night's sleep for the whole family. It was also great that there was an extra quilt available, ensuring everyone stayed warm and cozy.
For dads, it would be great if there were more child-friendly amenities or activities for the kids.

the property we were given was not the one we booked, and we encountered several issues such as blown electrics, non-functioning appliances, and a lack of basic amenities like cups and toilet paper. the flat had a strong damp smell and was infested with slugs. After notifying the owner, we were moved to a different flat, but it had its own problems including no heating or hot water, open windows that couldn't be closed, and a shower that was too cold to use. There were also several missing items in the kitchen and maintenance issues throughout the flat. It took the landlord six nights to address the hot water issue, which was simply a matter of paying an invoice. Cons: Nothing enjoyable about the stay, especially due to the absence of hot water. 👎.

The location was convenient, close to my family and in an area I am familiar with. There was tea and coffee provided, which was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and there was an extra quilt available, allowing for a cozy night's sleep.
The bathroom was dirty with used toothpaste in the sink and other people's hair in the shower. I had to clean the cutlery and crockery before using them, and there was no tea towel to be found.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and spend quality time with your family, Northgate Lodge in Hartlepool is the perfect place. It offers a tranquil atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy each other's company. The nearby fishing village provides a charming setting for exploration, with its colorful boats and friendly locals. Our children absolutely loved watching the fishermen at work and even got to try their hand at casting their own lines. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about the local culture and traditions. We created unforgettable memories together as a family, surrounded by the beauty of the coast.
For dads, it would be great if the hotel had a small playground or outdoor play area for the children. Although our kids had a fantastic time, they wished there was a dedicated space where they could run around and play freely.

The rooms at Northgate Lodge are so cozy, with a comfy sofa and seating area where I could relax and unwind after a long day. I loved having a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, it made me feel right at home and I could cook my meals just the way I like them. The flat-screen TV with satellite channels was a great addition, I could catch up on my favorite shows and movies during my stay. It was so convenient to have a private bathroom with free toiletries, everything I needed was right there.
Personally, I would have preferred if the rooms had a bit more variety, as each unit had a similar layout and features.
